Xue Fei
In the very moment of being defined, everything is also being created. Countless grains of sand appearing before us construct the entire world. The process of interpretation itself is a part of creation. Seeking experiences that resonate with our own identities reinforces our sense of self.
Fei Xue is a Chinese female artist born in 1993, currently living and working in Shanghai. The materials Xue chooses include stones, tiles and sands, she uses the most ordinary organic material in her paintings, and vests a unique texture within her art with the power of nature. She grants a sense of everydayness into the story scenes in between memory, fairytales, and myths, and leads the audience on a journey with vastly distinctive creatures of her creation. With Xue’s visual representation, she delivers a contemporary anecdotal world-view that is rooted in human subconscious.
