Jing Zhang
As a multidisciplinary artist, my creations delve into the complexities of the human condition.
Jing Zhang was born in Xi'an, China in 1981. His artistic journey began at the Art School attached to Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 2002. He pursued his undergraduate studies in Mixed Media at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and completed his degree in 2006. In 2010, Zhang obtained his graduate degree in Oil Painting from the same institution. Currently, Zhang is based in Los Angeles, where he continues to explore and be inspired.
Through various mediums and techniques, I explore themes of identity, memory, and the transient nature of existence. Drawing from my own experiences and observations, I strive to evoke emotions and provoke contemplation in viewers.
My artistic process involves incorporating elements of the abandoned and discarded, symbolizing the fragility and impermanence of life. By juxtaposing contrasting imagery and employing a range of colors, I aim to convey the dichotomy between isolation and connection, chaos and order.
Through my art, I invite viewers to reflect on their own place in the world, the passage of time, and the search for meaning within our ever-changing surroundings. By embracing the innate loneliness that coexists with our shared humanity, I hope to inspire dialogue and introspection.
